As a content creator, I will often be approached by brands and businesses to work with them but I will always give my honest and true feedback and would never promote something that I did not wholeheartedly believe in or promote something that I would not recommend to my family or friends.
In line with the new laws that were announced in January 2019 stating that influencers must not only declare ads/gifts/sponsorship/affiliates but also my history with these businesses or brands. I wanted to make clear how I will be doing this.

Just To Make It Clear
Paid, Sponsored, Gift
When I use the phrase ‘I was invited’ it means that I was personally contacted and asked to attend or try something in exchange for my honest opinion, this may result in me receiving some free goodies, free entry, a trip or payment, but I will always be honest and truthful within my blog, vlogs and with my promotion on social media, to make sure that this is clear on my blog post I will also put a disclaimer at the end of the post so that you are aware This includes any of the following below;
- Press Trips
- Attractions
- Events
- Restaurants
- Hotel Stays
- Activities
Paid, Sponsored, Gifted or Loaned
On occasion, I may be sent a product to try or be given the opportunity to experience service to test out in exchange for my honest review this may be given to me on a short-term loan or I may be given the product to keep and I may receive payment to be an Ambassador in exchange for an honest written/video review If I truly enjoyed the product and feel that my readers will benefit from using the product. I will give as many details within my reviews on the pros and cons of the products and if it is relevant I will give tips on how to get the most out of the product. This may include;
- Products I use for Travel, Fitness, Technology, fashion or food
- Services that I am invited to try out such as courses, travel services etc…
Affiliate Marketing
My site does contain some affiliate links, this does not cost you any extra money, however, if you do click on any of my affiliate links and make a purchase, I will make a small commission from this. Sometimes my affiliate links may even get you money off. How I use affiliate links;
- Banner Adverts when you see other companies advertised on my site
- Posted reviews as to where you can get the products from or book your travel.
Amazon Affiliates
One Epic Road Trip is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
How I will Disclose this on my Social Media
Instagram and TikTok Stories/Reels
- If I am working with a brand I will tag the business in my Instagram story/reel
- If it is a paid partnership I will use the hashtag #paidpartnership, #sponsoredpost or #ad
- If I receive an item or trip for free I will use the hashtag #freebie #gifted or #loaned
If I post a photo to permanently stay on my Instagram feed I will leave a short disclaimer as well as the relevant hashtag as seen above as well as tagging the brand on the photo.
YouTube
If I do a YouTube Video that contains any of the above partnerships with brands stating “Paid, Sponsored, Gifted – Travel, Services and Products” This will be stated in the video on the end card and may even be discussed within the video and will also be placed in the description. If I Promote any products and have discount codes and affiliate links I will mention this in the video and go into detail in the description.
If I post a link to my content on Twitter, I will tag the brand as well as use relevant hashtags.
Facebook/LinkedIn
It may not always be possible to tag the brand in with a link to them, but I will name them and use the relevant hashtags.
Discord
I won’t be able to tag brands on my discord server but I will disclose the type of content I am posting
Promoting my own Products
I do have One Epic Road Trip Merchandise and my Epic8Tee4 clothing brand that will be made available to purchase for the general public in the future, so from time to time, you may see me use or wear my products in a photo or in a video.
Guest Posts and Collaborations
I currently do not accept guests’ blog posts as I like my blog to be my little piece of the internet that I share with my followers, but on occasion, I may have a collaboration post/video in which I and other bloggers/vloggers/podcasters/influencers, which will include a link to their blog, YouTube Channel or other social media platforms. Please note, that if I collaborate with other bloggers/vloggers/podcasters/influencers their opinions, views and actions are their own and not that of myself or my One Epic Road Trip brand and should any of their actions from now and in the future be seen to be damaging to my brand then the collaboration may be removed without prejudice, without warning or explanation.
